Sermon Notes

Gen 1:1-3

Good Success: A Life with No Trade-offs

The world often teaches us that success comes with sacrifice—our peace for wealth, our family for career, our joy for ambition. But God’s definition of success – Good Success, is whole and complete. No trade-offs, no missing pieces—just a life filled with His goodness, joy, health, and peace.

Building on the Right Foundations

🔹 In the beginning, God! (Gen 1:1) – Success that excludes God will ultimately lead to emptiness. But when He is our source, we thrive in every season.
🔹 Only the Spirit gives form and fills emptiness (Gen 1:2) – We often look for fulfillment in money, status, or relationships, but only God’s Spirit can fill the void within.
🔹 Light reveals the path to success (Gen 1:3) – Without the Word of God, we stumble in darkness. But when we let His Word lead, we walk in divine purpose and clarity.

Reflections for the Week

  • Is my life aligned with God’s definition of success?
  • How can I start with God daily?
  • Am I allowing the Holy Spirit to fill the empty places in my life?
  • Am I led by God’s Word or by the world’s definition of success?

So can we ask again that you declare today and every day this week that,

“Today and always, I declare that God is my beginning, my source, and my all. The Holy Spirit inspires me in all I do, and I have no darkness in me. My life is led by His Word and not fashioned after the world. Therefore, above all things, my life, soul, spirit, and health prosper in Jesus’ name!”

We encourage you to hold on to this declaration and God’s promises for you throughout the week and walk boldly in the Good Success God has planned for you. He wishes above all things, that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers!
