Declaration:

“This is my Bible. This is the Word of God. I am what it says I am. I have what it says I have. I can do what it says I can do…”

Key Scripture:

Joshua 1:10 (NKJV) – “Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God is giving you to possess.”

Overview:

In this powerful message, Pastor Jonathan Onyeme emphasises the biblical mandate to prepare ourselves for the journey ahead—both spiritually and practically. Drawing from Joshua’s leadership of the Israelites, the sermon explores the importance of preparation in fulfilling God’s promises.

Key Points:

1. The Meaning of “Prepare Yourselves”

•Taking active steps to be ready for what is ahead.

•Sanctification, purification, and separation from sin.

2. Lessons from the Israelites’ Preparation:

  • Consecration and spiritual cleansing (Joshua 3:5; Exodus 19:10-11).
  • Obedience to God’s instructions (Joshua 3:3, 9; Genesis 6:2-5).
  • Renewing the covenant (Joshua 5:2; Genesis 17:10-14).
  • Celebrating Passover as a reminder of God’s faithfulness (Joshua 5:10).

3. The Call to Prepare Today:

  • Prepare your heart through repentance (Matthew 3:2).
  • Live in obedience to God’s Word (James 1:22).
  • Be watchful and spiritually alert (Matthew 24:42).
  • Engage in prayer and fasting (Joel 1:14).
  • Hunger for God’s presence (Psalm 41:1).
  • Prepare for eternity (Hebrews 9:27).

“The will to win is not nearly as important as the will to prepare to win.” – Bobby Knight

Pastor Onyeme reminds us that preparation is not optional—it is essential for receiving God’s promises. Like the Israelites, we must take steps of faith, sanctification, and obedience to align ourselves with God’s will.

📖 Read: Revelation 19:6-8.
